WHILE INSISTING he and his team-mates have come back down to earth from last Friday’s 4-0 win over Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians midfielders Ryan McEvoy wants the crowd to remain on a high and offer the same level of support as most of Aaron Callaghan’s young side play in Europe for the first time tonight.
Despite their inexperience, Bohemians are favourites against Thór, who were relegated to Iceland’s second division last season. They qualified for Europe as beaten cup finalists.
“We don’t really know a lot about this team,” said McEvoy, who, though on the bench against Salzburg three years ago, is set for his European bow. “But they won’t know a lot about us. They’ll be looking at our result last week and that may work in our favour.”
The Rovers win has Callaghan’s side full of confidence. “It’s perfect timing,” added McEvoy. “It’s come kind of quickly. I’m glad that we are at home too because I’m hoping a lot of people will come.”
Striker Dinny Corcoran, despite a shoulder injury, is expected to be passed fit for selection.
