A poignant tribute to young Tyrone left half-forward Paul McGirr, who died following a freak accident in the Ulster minor quarter-final last June, will be paid at Croke Park next Sunday. The Tyrone county board has been given permission by the GAA to line out with no player wearing a number 12 jersey when Tyrone play in the All-Ireland minor semi-final against Kerry.

It is thought that Tyrone minor teams will, in future, always line out without a number 12 jersey as a tribute to McGirr. He died after a collision with the Armagh goalkeeper as he scored the only goal in the Ulster championship match in Omagh.
