McGuinness led from the opening lap and clocked a lap record of 127.326mph, with Adrian Archibald second followed by Lougher in third and Supersport Junior race winner Ryan Farquhar fourth. Farquhar was later forced out on lap three.

Britton moved to second on the second lap after Archibald retired with McGuinness still leading by 24.9 seconds and Lougher in third. On lap three Britton tried to carve into McGuinness' lead, narrowing the deficit to 23.9 seconds, but McGuinness fought back on the fourth lap to extend his advantage at the top.

Britton slipped down to fifth on the penultimate lap after suffering problems when he was exiting the pitlane, which saw Lougher move into second and Martin into the final podium spot. The positions remained the same for the final lap with McGuinness' clocking an average speed of 124.324mph.
