SCHOOLS' RUGBY/ St Patrick's Navan 5 St Columba's College 0: It took a try from St Patrick's Classical School's number eight Brian McKeever to separate two evenly matched sides in the Section A semi-final at Barnhall yesterday.

St Columba's made the mistake of taking on the heavier St Patrick's forwards and got drawn into a battle of attrition. The match was won on a pre-arranged move. Outhalf Karl Manning went right on a decoy run and McKeever picked up from the base of a scrum to surge over in the left corner.
