Women's Football Semi-finalsBallinteer midfielder Angie McNally, sister of intercounty forward Johnny, inspired Dublin to their first All-Ireland final, with a five-point second-half haul and some surging broken play runs, as the Leinster champions had too much for Kerry's blend of youth and experience at O'Moore Park on Saturday.

The 34-year-old teacher held much in reserve, as the second semi-final had its kick-off delayed by over an hour, and Dublin seemed dazed early on by the silky forward play of Kingdom duo Geraldine O'Shea and teenager Kasey O'Driscoll.

O'Shea, a veteran of Kerry's last All-Ireland 10 years ago, directed Kerry's play in the opening minutes, and 17-year-old O'Driscoll signalled her intent with two early points. McNally crafted a goal chance but her 12th minute shot blazed left of Andrea O'Donoghue's uprights.

Karen Hopkins also shot wide of the Kerry goal before Na Fianna forward Mary Nevin kept Dublin in touch with her second successful free. An O'Driscoll free and two scores from skipper O'Shea resulted in Kerry taking a four-point advantage into the break, at 0-7 to 0-3.

Keen to avenge last year's semi-final loss to Mayo, Mick Bohan's two-time Leinster champions hit the first four scores of the second period to draw level. Substitute Gemma Fay's 38th minute point saw Dublin hit the front but Kerry were given a lifeline five minutes later as Naomh Mearnog half back Orla Colreavy was dismissed for her second bookable offence on O'Driscoll.

The Munster champions' revival was short-lived as their forwards raised just one white flag, through an O'Shea free, in the remaining minutes.

A rampant Dublin could afford a penalty miss on 51 minutes through half forward Hopkins.
