CHRISTY RING CUP ROUND ONE: Meath 0-16 Mayo 0-12: MEATH MADE heavy work of disposing of Mayo in Navan with a scoring burst in the third quarter proving crucial for the home side.
The home side were always ahead after points from Ger O'Neill and Mickey Burke in the early stages and they went on to lead by 0-9 to 0-6 at the break.
Adrian Freeman was Mayo's only scorer before midfielder Derek McConn added a point after 50 minutes.
Before that five points in a row left Meath six to the good and they were already well on the way to the win.
