It was very much one-way traffic as Meath advanced to the last four in a Leinster under-21 football encounter in Navan in which Louth failed to score from play and did not manage a wide until the last minute.

The homeside did not have to be over impressive to dispose of very poor opposition. They led by 0-4 to 0-2 at the break after playing against the breeze.

With centre forward Barry Lynch their star man up front, Meath pulled comfortably clear in the second period and were 0-11 to 0-3 to the good after 46 minutes.

Louth had few attacks after the change of ends. Kevin Callaghan converted three frees and substitute Errol Boyle kicked over a 45.
