Wales v South Africa: South Africa coach Jake White believes the time is right to hand 20-year-old outhalf Meyer Bosman his debut against Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

Bosman is the one new cap in a Springboks line-up showing four changes from the one that beat Argentina 34-23 two weeks ago in Buenos Aires. The introduction of Bosman comes after Andre Pretorius injured an ankle against the Argentinians.

Joining Bosman at half-back is scrumhalf Michael Classens, his Free State team-mate, who will be making his first international start after earning his opening four caps as a replacement.

The other changes from the team that tamed the Pumas are Schalk Burger and Lawrence Sephaka, who replace loosehead prop Os du Randt and blindside flanker Solomzi Tyibilka respectively.

Wales, meanwhile, have appealed to the International Rugby Board to take immediate action after Sale Sharks demanded centre Mark Taylor be released for club duty this weekend.

Taylor would have been in contention to face South Africa but informed Wales head coach Mike Ruddock last Sunday a "holding clause" existed in his Sale contract.

Winger Daffyd James has come out of the wilderness to be included in a Wales side for the first time in three years.

The 2001 Lion last appeared for Wales under Steve Hansen in the 2002 defeat to New Zealand and was only called into the squad this week as injury cover. But he impressed sufficiently to win a place on the wing among 10 changes Ruddock has made to the first-choice Wales side that was beaten 41-3 by the All Blacks.

Two of the changes are injury-enforced with James replacing Kevin Morgan (ankle) and Luke Charteris starting in place of lock Brent Cockbain (hamstring).

But otherwise Ruddock has performed radical surgery on the side. Lee Byrne starts at fullback with captain Gareth Thomas moving to outside centre in place of Taylor.

Sonny Parker comes into the midfield while Lions tourist Gareth Cooper takes over from Mike Phillips at scrumhalf.

In the pack, Worcester prop Chris Horsman has recovered from an ankle problem to start ahead of Adam Jones and hooker Rhys Thomas has ousted Mefin Davies, while Lions flanker Martyn Williams returns with Jonathan Thomas slipping to the bench and Colin Charvis moving to the blindside.
