Ulster Schools Senior Cup:Omagh Academy 0 Banbridge Academy 7 BANBRIDGE HAD the better of the play but now face the extreme difficulty of playing RBAI in the fourth round on Saturday week. The Co Down team, who had lost at Omagh earlier in the season, have improved greatly and, considering the number of chances that came their way, the winning margin should have been greater.
The home defence had to work hard and credit must be given as they were under extreme pressure for long periods. They started strongly but gradually the visitors gained the upper hand and Omagh never threatened the Banbridge line.
Banbridge had three good scoring opportunities in the first period but were only successful once. Ten minutes before half-time quick ball was passed along the three-quarters for right winger Andrew Mitchell to run in for Shandon Scott to convert.
