Moate CS 2-12 Salesian College 0-6:MOATE CS had an emphatic win over Salesian College, Celbridge, in this Leinster Colleges SF A Championship round two clash at Hogan Park yesterday.
First-half goals by John Maguire (from a penalty) and the excellent Patrick Holloway put Moate in a comfortable position at the interval, at which stage they lead by 2-6 to 0-2.
Wing back Holloway was fouled for the penalty which led to Maguire’s goal and Holloway scored the second in the 20th minute, after he was picked out by Lorcan Dolan’s pass.
The Celbridge side were unable to eat into Moate’s lead in the second half and the home side ran out comfortable winners.
Moate progress to the quarter-final and, on the evidence of this display, they will fancy their chances of making further progress.
