Monaghan 1-13 Tipperry 1-8 Monaghan finished their league campaign on a winning note but it wasn't until the second half of this encounter in Clones yesterday that they came to grips with a determined Tipperary
The home team rallied late in the first half, after Tipperary's Eamonn Hanrahan scored his side's only goal of the game, to leave the half-time score Tipperary 1-5, Monaghan 0-4.
Fergal Mone reduced the deficit to three points three minutes after the break and a goal from Raymond Ronaghan midway through the half put Monaghan into a commanding position.
