Monaghan 0-11 Down 0-8:FIVE UNANSWERED points in the final 12 minutes saw Monaghan come from behind to book their place in the final at the Morgan Athletic Grounds, Armagh, yesterday. Down led 0-3 to 0-2 after Conor McGrady and Fergal McGeough had exchanged points. Conor McCarthy levelled from a free but Down efforts from Ronan McAlinden and McGrady put them two clear before Monaghan had the final say of the half through a Pádraic Keenan free.
Monaghan levelled within 10 seconds of the restart through McAllister before Daniel McCarthy fisted a score. McCarthy put Down two in front but back came Monaghan through McAllister. Joe McDermott restored Down’s two-point lead in the 44th minute but that was their last score. Wylie levelled before Ryan McAnespie, Conor McCarthy and Dessie Ward sealed victory.
