LEAGUE OF IRELAND PLAY-OFFS: Waterford United 1 Monaghan United 3: MONAGHAN rediscovered their best form at just the time at the RSC last night.
It took them 28 minutes to open their account when Aidan Lynch got his head to a Cathal O’Connor corner and they increased that advantage on 58 minutes when a move started by Seán Brennan in midfield was touched on by Barry Clancy and Billy Hughes powered a great header past Burns.
Liam Kearney equalised on 65 minutes, but Monaghan wrapped up the tie six minutes from time when Hughes rattled home a 25-yard free-kick.
