Moon Driver looks good

Moon Driver can win today's Shadwell Stud Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket for France

Moon Driver can win today's Shadwell Stud Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket for France. Trained by Jonathan Pease, the filly has only had two starts so far but was impressive when winning at Chantilly last time.

Second on her debut at Deauville, Moon Driver stepped up considerably on that form when winning the Group Three Prix d'Arenberg, quickening nicely to beat pattern-race winner Harbour Island by two-and-a-half lengths.

The two-year-old is certainly bred to be a champion, being by Mr Prospector out of triple Group One winner East Of The Moon, herself a daughter of the brilliant Miesque.

There is every chance she still has improvement in her and she can become one of the leading 1,000 Guineas contenders by winning here.

Another big prize looks set to leave Britain courtesy of Pissaro in the £300,000 Tattersalls Houghton Sales Stakes.

The Green Desert colt is another member of Aidan O'Brien's powerful juvenile team and is a half-brother to Maidaan, winner of this event 12 months ago.

Pissaro was an impressive winner of his only start, scoring by six lengths at Cork in June.

He holds entries for the top juvenile events this autumn and could prove a very useful colt.

Ex Gratia appears to be on the upgrade and may land the NGK Spark Plugs Rated Stakes (Showcase Handicap) over 12 furlongs.

The winner of a mile maiden at Haydock in June, Barry Hills's charge was a little headstrong earlier this season but has learned to settle and won a conditions event over an extended 10 furlongs at Doncaster last time.

There is enough stamina in his pedigree to suggest he will stay this extra distance and scoop this £14,500 prize.

It's Allowed can enjoy a welcome change of luck in the European Breeders' Fund Jersey Lily Fillies' Nursery.

It's Allowed has run well on both her starts for new connections.

The Irish Horseracing Authority yesterday appointed John White as general manager of Tote Ireland and Matt Mitchell as general manager IHA Racecourses. Twenty-three horses stood their ground at yesterday's acceptance stage for Saturday's Ladbroke Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh.

Aidan O'Brien, who has yet to be successful in the race, states that one of the joint top-weight, Genghis Khan, is a "possible". Dermot Weld, who will be attempting to win the race for the third time, runs Hadeb, a winner at Tralee last month and second to Laurentia at the Curragh last time. Hadeb will again take on Laurentia, who will carry a 12lb penalty.
