Well Tutored is likely to go for gold in the richly-endowed Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown on December 27th.
The seven-year-old began the last campaign in hunter chase company but progressed sufficiently to justify a crack at a decent handicap at the Grand National meeting.
Having fallen in that race, Well Tutored returned to Ireland and finished well down the field at Fairyhouse but returned to action with a bang when sluicing home at Naas back in November.
Trainer Arthur Moore said: "Well Tutored is in the Paddy Power and I'd say that will be the plan as he's fine.
"It was two-miles-and-three that he won over last time so obviously we'll just find out on the day if he gets the three miles as that's the big question mark now."
After easing to a four-length verdict last time out, Moore's charge has been upped 9lb to a handicap mark of 122, and the Co Kildare handler hopes the handicapper has not been too heavy-handed.
"We'll find out on the day and we'll just have to live with that," he remarked.
Another potential high-profile runner for the Moore yard over the festive period is the promising novice King Johns Castle.
The seven-year-old could bid to atone for a disappointing show when sent off favourite for the Drinmore Novice Chase in the Guinness Greenmount Park Novice Chase at Limerick on St Stephen's Day.
"He's in at Limerick but I'm not sure yet if he'll run, we'll decide later in the week," said Moore.
"He's a nice horse and he should have a good season hopefully but we'll just take things as they come."
n The meeting scheduled for Fakenham today has been abandoned due to the track being frozen.
Officials called an inspection yesterday afternoon to assess the situation but were forced to admit defeat with temperatures predicted to drop below freezing overnight.
