The Rugby Football Union have been found guilty by the International Rugby Board of "conduct prejudicial to the interests of the board".

But the disciplinary committee of the board have not passed a sentence on the English union, choosing to wait until tomorrow week before deciding what penalty, if any, should be imposed.

The IRB charged England over the English First Division rugby clubs' complaint to the European Commission in which they challenged the IRB's right to run club rugby as well as international rugby. IRB officials said they were concerned at England's conduct in relation to the complaint, concluding: "The RFU had failed to make good on their pledge of support to the IRB."
