2.00 "I'm going to take Denman on in this race. He's a terrible price. He is obviously a very good horse, but to me he looks a real chaser in the making. In a big field like this I could see him struggling a bit. He might just be a bit awkward to cope with it all. Instead, I'll stick with Nicanor.

Paul Carberry looks to have chosen the right one from the Noel Meade horses. I give Letterman an each-way chance but the main danger might be Refinement."

Selection: Nicanor

2.35 "Timmy Murphy has told me he thinks Commercial Flyer is his best ride of the week, and Timmy's a good-enough judge. He'll do me. There are a fair few Irish horses in with chances, but Our Ben hasn't really impressed me this season. I know he ran well in the Hurdle last year, but to me he's a horse that is too in-and-out.

The Railway Man is a much bigger price and should go well, but if there's a danger it will be Back In Front, who is the class horse of the race."

Selection: Commercial Flyer

3.15 "I don't go along with all this stuff about Moscow Flyer being finished. I think it's significant that he was running okay when all of Jessie's (Harrington) were going terrible. A lot has been made, too, of his work-out at Leopardstown after racing, but I take the view he was never able to win a bumper and just doesn't go well on the flat. It looks a sub-standard Champion Chase and Moscow has been there and done that. Cheltenham is a good course for such horses. Kauto Star is the up-and-coming horse, but I would like to see more of him before coming to a judgment. He's still the main danger to Moscow Flyer though. Fota Island has some sort of chance, too, but I'll stick with the champion."

Selection: Moscow Flyer

4.00 "My horse Oodachee is in this, but we're going to wait instead for the Pertemps Hurdle tomorrow. I know Edward O'Grady's horse Sky's The Limit is top weight now, but I still fancy him. The bottom weight is 10.11, so it's really only a stone handicap.

The ground will be okay for the horse and I'd be happy to be on him. I think ours are badly handicapped, but No Where To Hyde should appreciate the trip and he's another that should go well."

Selection: Sky's The Limit.

4.40 "I believe horses for courses is important around here, and Liberthine will go close again. But it's a hard race, not really a betting proposition. Another Rum is another course winner and could go well too."

Selection: Liberthine

5.20 "Ruby has gone for Equus Maximus, but I'll still side with Ballytrim. I thought he stayed well at Thurles, and while you do need a good cruising speed around here, you definitely need to stay.

It's also a very tight race to ride, but Johnny Murtagh will be used to that. He's a world-class rider and this can be the perfect warm-up for the Stayers Hurdle tomorrow."

Selection: Ballytrim.
