RACING NEWS: MOURAYAN WILL attempt to cement his place near the top of John Oxx's powerful juvenile team with a Listed success in Sunday's Eyrefield Stakes at Leopardstown.

The Beresford Stakes runner-up will be one of the star performers on the final day of the 2008 flat turf campaign in Ireland which also features the November Handicap.

Mourayan had to miss last weekend's Racing Post Trophy due to a setback but had earlier finished just half a length off his stable companion Sea The Stars in the Beresford.

Today's star performer, however, is the Grade One winning hurdler Forpadydeplasterer who makes his fencing debut in the Beginners Chase at Punchestown.

Ground conditions will be testing but trainer Tom Cooper said yesterday: "It will be a test but heavy at Punchestown isn't as bad as at other racecourses.

"He has been back in since mid-July, he's done plenty of schooling and we've been very happy with him."

Noel Meade's string have been in sparkling form and Fisher Bridge can overcome a weight concession to follow up a course victory in the opening novice hurdle.

If he does then Bob Lingo's chance in the second maiden hurdle will look even clearer.

Jessica Harrington, meanwhile, is keen to assess conditions at Wetherby before committing Cabin Point to the Listed bet365 Best Odds Guaranteed Mares' Hurdle on Saturday.

The five-year-old has not been hard pressed to score on her last two outings and Harrington is now hoping to pick up some black type with the talented mare.

She is also engaged in a Grade Three contest at Down Royal on Friday, but Harrington will not be making any decision on her likely destination until today at the earliest. "I don't know where she will run yet and I won't decide until maybe late tomorrow or even Thursday - I really want to see what the ground is going to be like first," said Harrington.

"I want quick ground for her but she doesn't want it too quick, we really just want some nice ground for her and that's why her entered her over there."

Harrington's former Champion Bumper hero Cork All Star is set to make his return over obstacles in the Grade Three Anglo Irish Bank Hurdle at Down Royal on Friday.

A spin on the level at Listowel last month blew away the cobwebs and Harrington has been delighted with his progress.
