Dublin Mountain captured their first trophy on Sunday when they won the Pitney Bowes-sponsored Dublin Team Trophy at Edmondstown. Founded in 1993, the Dublin Mountain team of Tom Cullen, Eamon Kiely, Paul Hayden and Brendan Keenan shot a 284 total to win by three shots from the host club with Hollywood Lakes taking third place on 289. Cullen (13) shot 70, Kiely (12) 72, Hayden (11) had 73 and the best round came from Keenan who shot 69 off a 10 handicap. The best nett of the day went to Stephen Lawlor of Deer Park with a 66 off 12 and the best gross went to Brendan Martin of Kilcoole.
The President's (Jimmy Kinsella) Prize of the Leinster Golf Alliance will be held at Skerries Golf Club on Saturday September 18th. Sponsored by Nestle, the time sheet is available at 282 7297 from 4.30 to 6.30 from tomorrow.
