MICK CHANNON, successful a year ago in the Group Two Moet & Chandon Rennen with Flying Squaw, repeated the feat in the big German juvenile prize at Baden Baden yesterday with Muchea.
Muchea, the 4 to 5 favourite, atoning for an unlucky run at Leopardstown and ridden by Richard Hughes, outpointed Brian Gubby's Omaha City by a length and a half to complete a British one two. Muchea may now run in the Group One Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
The Group One Grosser Preis von Baden, over 12 furlongs, tomorrow, has attracted Dermot Weld's Definite Article (Michael Kinane), Clive Brittain's Luso (Richard Quinn) and Michael Stoute's Pilsudski (Walter Swinburn) plus two classy French performers in Poliglote and last year's Coronation Cup winner Sunshack.
Frankie Dettori guided Germany to win this race last year for Bruno Schutz and has again been booked for the Cologne runner. John Reid will also be hoping to continue his successful partnership with the German mare, Hollywood Dream.
