A field of eight will line up for Britain's last Group One race of the year at Doncaster today and an intriguing contest looks in store for the Racing Post Trophy. Kilimanjaro has been well supported to give trainer Michael Stoute a first victory in the onemile event while Henry Cecil - who has lifted the prize no fewer than nine times - runs Craigsteel and Aidan O'Brien sends over Saratoga Springs.

However, it could pay to side with Mudeer to give the Godolphin operation back-to-back wins in the race.

In last year's heat Medaaly rallied gamely to take this prestigious event and clinch the trainers' title for Saeed bin Suroor. And connections can land the season's renewal with another highlypromising individual.

Unbeaten in his two starts, Mudeer looks a star of the future judged on his wins which were both gained in impressive fashion over seven furlongs.

With plenty of stamina on his dam's side, Mudeer is capable of further improvement over today's trip and is the nap to win. Newbury's Flat season closes today, with the Perpetual St Simon Stakes over a mile and a half the highlight.

This Group Three event provides Busy Flight with the chance to regain the winning thread following a bold show in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe earlier this month.

Prominent until two furlongs out in the Arc, the son of Pharly weakened to finish 10th, 13 lengths behind Peintre Celebre. Returned to his own grade at the Berkshire course Busy Flight is worth backing to land this £30,000-added contest.
