Defending champions Monster suffered a record defeat in their opening game of this year's Youth's Interprovincial Championship at Fitzgerald Park last Saturday. The home side had no answer to a power packed Leinster performance that saw the result beyond doubt by half time.

Monster centre Mark Cronin pinned the visitors in their own half in the early stages with his accurate line kicking, but once Damien Broughall and Dominic Marmion established dominance in the line out, Leinster gradually took control.
