Cardiff - 60 Munster - 14 A second-string Munster crashed to their seventh loss in eight Celtic League games as the Blues jogged in nine tries in the rain at the Arms Park last night.
Munster coach Alan Gaffney made nine changes to the side who cruelly lost the European Cup semi-final to London Wasps last weekend, and it was a few too many, though one new name that leapt out was that of back-rower Alan Quinlan, returning for his first game since injuring a shoulder while scoring Ireland's only try against Argentina in the World Cup.
Of the new-look Munster side, only inside centre Rob Henderson really impressed; he deserved his try double but limped off after an hour.
After only eight minutes, Blues skipper Martyn Williams cleaned up a loose pass and put Morgan over in the corner. Centre Iestyn Harris added a penalty goal, and back-rower Dan Baugh capped his 99th game for Cardiff by finishing off a great break by Jamie Robinson.
Munster stopped the rot for 20 minutes, but then Harris stepped past four defenders before putting Robinson in.
Munster hit straight back when Henderson ran over the top of Nicky Robinson to score from close range, but the Blues ran in their bonus-point try in the 36th minute, Morgan scoring in the corner.
Munster scored again through Henderson, but Morgan completed his hat-trick on the stroke of half-time and the Blues went into the break leading 34-14.
Only 80 seconds into the second half Tom Shanklin bagged his side's sixth try.
Lock Donncha O'Callaghan earned a debatable yellow card before Blues second-rower Heino Senekal crashed over.
Williams and Shanklin grabbed further tries before referee Iain Ramage put the Irish players out of their misery.
