Rupert Murdoch's BSkyB is considering screening the cult sheepdog programme One Man and His Dog. The BBC decided to ditch its coverage of the show after 23 years. The channel was subsequently bombarded with complaints from animal lovers demanding that the doggies be put back on screen.
BSkyB has apparently stepped in to save the day, but it is not yet certain where the network will screen the pooch action. Will it join the Sky One big hitters like Pamela Anderson's VIP, Friends and ER or will it be buried away in one of the three sports channels, along with indoor hill climbing and indoor wind surfing? Sky Box Office may screen the doggie Olympics. A pay-perchew event, of course.
