Portmarnock CS 1-11 Gormanstown 1-8:PORTMARNOCK COMMUNITY School made full use of home advantage as they saw off Gormanstown in north Dublin yesterday.

With the game level at half-time Tom Meade launched a speculative long-range point effort that fell short, only for the unfortunate Cathal Tallon to drop the ball into his own net.

Meade added a point to give the Dubliners a commanding five-point lead at half-time and despite several attempts at comebacks they kept their opponents at arm's length throughout thanks, in part, to goalkeeper Colin Murphy who pulled off some excellent saves.

Donal Lundy scored 1-6 for the Meathmen but his last-minute penalty wasn't enough to bridge the gap as the home side held on.
