Murphy struck two magnificent 80 metre points as his side assumed total early control when assisted by the wind.
Subjecting St Mary's to constant pressure. they added a goal after 20 minutes through Billy Nolan, which helped them to a 1-12 to 0-4 interval lead.
While St Mary's, through excellent play from Cathal Clince and Ger Foley, tried to stage a recovery, Nickey Roberts sealed victory for Bunclody with a second goal one minute from time.
