Dundalk will be without David Crawley for this evening's Carlsberg FAI Cup second round replay against Galway after the 24-year-old picked up an ankle injury in last Thursday night's tie.

His absence hands Stuart Connolly the chance of a start and young Cormac McArdle the prospect of a place on the bench. Manager Martin Murray, however, may not be worrying too much about the minor reshuffle given the mini-fixture pile-up he faces. With the cup replay having been fixed for this evening Dundalk have two important games in the space of 48 hours.

After tonight's visit to Terryland Park is out of the way, Murray's men have just a day's rest before heading to the Brandywell for Thursday's Eircom League game against Derry City.

Galway, meanwhile, are still without the suspended Darragh Sheridan for the game although Alan Murphy is back after missing Thursday's game due to exam commitments.

The club have re-signed former goalkeeper, 28-year-old Robert Forde from Monaghan United. He originally left to go to Shamrock Rovers. During his time with the Dubliners the Galwayman revealed in a match programme that the most embarrassing moment of his career was his prior association with his home town team. He seems, however, to have shaken off the sense of shame.

Drogheda United manager Harry McCue has Gary Rogers, Don Tierney and Danny O'Connor back from suspension for this evening's cup replay against UCD but Padraig Gallogley, Seβn Gallagher and Gary Cummins all look set to miss out through injury.

McCue is likely to bring in Stuart Smith or Ciarβn Donnelly for Gallogley, Jed Glennon for Gallagher and Derek Delaney for Cummins. Gary Rogers will replace Jason Lowney in goals.

UCD are at full strength although Paul Doolin says he hasn't ruled out making changes for the game. "It's funny," he says, "because if we'd won you would have come off thinking it was a good performance but we didn't play for those last two minutes and that ended up being costly so we'll have a look at it before the game starts."
