Jockey of the season Johnny Murtagh notched his 12th Group/Grade One winner of the season on Michael Stoute's Daliapour in the Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin yesterday morning.

It was Daliapour's final race for Stoute following his sale to property magnate Robert Ng last week and he will remain in training in Hong Kong in the care of Ivan Allan.

Of Daliapour's performance the Newmarket trainer commented: "Johnny had him in a very good position so he met no problems in what was a rough race for some."

Murtagh said: "Everything came out right. I took it up two furlongs out and he stayed on well."

A traumatic year for Frankie Dettori ended on a happy note with Fantastic Light's victory in the Hong Kong Cup. Dettori missed several weeks of the British season after breaking his ankle in the plane crash which took the life of Dettori's close friend, pilot Patrick Mackey.

Responding to his jockey's every call Fantastic Light, in the blue colours of Godolphin, surged home one and three quarter lengths ahead of the Stoute-trained Greek Dance (Johnny Murtagh).

Fantastic Light's success also gave the Rahy colt the Emirates World Championship and provided trainer Saeed bin Suroor and Dettori with the Emirates world titles in their respective spheres.
