North County will be attempting to achieve what Phoenix did way back in 1985 and become only the second Leinster side to win the trophy when they face Cliftonville in the final of this season's Irish Senior Cup competition sponsored by Royal Liver Assur ance at The Lawn, Waringstown today (11 a.m.).

It is the first time that either side has reached the decider and as both had impressive semi-final victories it should produce an intriguing contest.

North County have proved themselves an outstanding side this season and with a large volume of travelling support have a great chance of creating their own slice of history, even though it may be a near run thing.
