Flak Jacket is the one to be on in the £10,000-added Tote Jackpot Stakes (Showcase Handicap) at Salisbury today. This is a typically-trappy midweek sprint but Flak Jacket is a progressive individual who ought to give his supporters a very good run for their money.

Brian Meehan's late-developing gelding came good on heavy ground at Kempton last June when beating Blue Kite by five lengths. He then went to Haydock and with markedly different underfoot conditions - good to firm - came with a powerful late run to deny Marton Moss by one and a half lengths.

Flak Jacket reappeared in a well-contested race at Kempton last month and finished seventh of 19, beaten under three lengths behind the winner Delta Soleil.

That should have put him straight and with plenty of room for improvement he looks reasonably treated off a mark of 84 - just 4lb higher than at Haydock.

May King Mayhem has a great chance of completing a hat-trick in the Bollinger Champagne Challenge Series Handicap.
