LIMERICK defender Declan Nash sustained a broken nose in training over the weekend and could be ruled out of Sunday week's Munster senior hurling championship game against Cork. Manager Tom Ryan said that at this stage it looked unlikely that he would be available for action.
This is another blow for Limerick who last month lost midfielder Mike Houlihan, also through injury. Ger Hegarty is also a long term injury victim.
Meanwhile, the National Irish Bank Personality of the month for April is Joe Brolly. The Derry corner forward was presented with the award at a lunch in Dublin yesterday.
It is recognition for Brolly's outstanding performances in the closing stages of the National Football League, particularly against Mayo in the quarter final. Earlier this month he played on the Derry side which retained the NFL title by defeating Donegal.
He has developed into one of the most devastating forwards in the country and should be a key contributor to Derry's championship prospects. Apart from this year's League medal, Brolly has others from 1992 and 95, and was on Derry's All Ireland winning team in 1993.
