Division One A

Galway v Antrim, Athenry, 5.0

The hometown players return to inter-county action as Galway push to maintain their 100 per cent record. Antrim haven't suffered too many trimmings during this campaign but this may change given the home side's scoring record and their pitiless destruction of Kerry last time out.

Kerry v Limerick, Tralee

Any remote chance of Limerick getting caught for a semi-final place will disappear here this afternoon.

Division One B

Tipperary v Laois, Thurles

Two teams presumably feeling upbeat after last week's performances meet with Tipperary needing the win to keep their semi-final prospects on track. Laois' recovery against Waterford showed what they are capable of when fully focused but the problem for Sean Cuddy will be to establish momentum quickly and maintain it for the championship.

Division Two

Armagh v Roscommon, Keady

A chance for Roscommon to score some points.

Division Three - Monaghan v Louth, Monaghan, 6.0; Fermanagh v Cavan, Enniskillen, 6.30.

Sunday (3.30 unless stated)

Division One B

Derry v Cork, Celtic Park, 1.30

Derry were again creditable last week when keeping Kilkenny within reason. This will be as hard as ever, with Cork annoyed at their inability to beat any opponents but the section's back-markers. They effortlessly did terrible things to Roscommon in the Oireachtas a couple of years back but the collective heart is unlikely to be in this match whereas the home side will be lifted by playing the All-Ireland champions. Not enough convergence there, however, to prevent a big win.

Wexford v Kilkenny, New Ross

Neighbours with contrasting fortune. Wexford haven't unearthed any new faces for a couple of years and still depend on veterans. They will therefore be particularly pleased to welcome Paul Codd back to the panel if not to the starting line-up. Kilkenny, on the other hand, have integrated a couple of youngsters and one of them, Eddie Brennan, has scored three goals in two matches. Of course the league teaches us nothing, but Brian Cody must be pleased to see some life on the assembly line. Kilkenny are still in the hunt for a semi-final place and look too purposeful for a Wexford team which has lacked conviction in the campaign so far.

Division Two

Meath v Westmeath, Navan

Bit of a shock for Meath against Carlow who severely disrupted the leaders' secure tenure in first place. Meath now have a fight on their hands with tomorrow's opponents at least as formidable and a change at the top of the table is very much on the cards.

Kildare v Wicklow, Newbridge, 1.30

Good tussle on the cards between these neighbours with Wicklow slightly favoured.

Tyrone v Carlow, Dungannon, 2.0

No respite for Tyrone, whose scoring average stands at .173, against a Carlow team buoyant after defeating leaders Meath.

Down v London, Ballygalget, 1.30

Down's destruction of Tyrone hasn't changed the fact that the upcoming matches against Carlow and Westmeath will decide their season. They should keep ticking over in this one.

Division Three - Longford v Donegal, Pearse Park, 1.30; Leitrim v Mayo, Carrick-on-Shannon, 1.30.

Postponed

The Division One A meeting between Offaly and Dublin scheduled for Parnell Park today has been postponed because of the death on Thursday night of Sean Dooley, father of Offaly hurlers Joe, Johnny and Billy. No alternative date has yet been set.
