WHILE a dozen members of the international squad have already been in action in Malaysia and Greece the domestic season gets under way at Navan on Sunday with the Cycleways Cup events opening the programme.

Because of road works a switch is necessary from the old Hill of Tara course and there will be three separate races at 10 minute intervals starting at 12.30.

Preparation and parking facilities are available at the rugby club premises beside the Ardboyne Hotel on the Dublin Road with the starting point at Kilcarn Bridge.

The first category men do five laps then second category and veterans have four laps with three for juniors and women.

Ciaran Power, Ray Clarke, David O'Loughlin, Kieran MacMahon, David McQuaid and Stephen Gallagher are in the four-day Tour of Rhodes that ends tomorrow.

Richie Beatty has made a change on the team for Egypt. Micheal Fitzgerald, Aidan Duff, Michael McNena, Paul Griffin and Eugene Moriarty go with Ciaran Power.

Fitzgerald, who was training in Australia before Malaysia, McNena and Duff are expected to be in the Navan line-up but Beatty advised Griffin and Moriarty to complete their preparation at home in Kerry before they set out on Tuesday for stage one of the Egyptian tour at Badra City.
