Plans to increase the number of International Olympic Committee executive board members appear to have foundered.
Francois Carrard, the IOC's director general, said there was no place on the agenda for this week's meeting in Seville to discuss proposals to increase the number of members of the executive board from 10 to 15.
Supporters of Primo Nebiolo, president of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations, and Mario Vazquez Rana, president of the Association of National Olympic Committees, feel the two men should be added to the board because of their important roles.
Prince Alexandre de Merode, chairman of the medical commission, said his report in Seville would add very little to his offering at the last IOC meeting in Sydney in April.
"Just a few more statistics and something on bio-mechanics," he said. "But nothing new relating to doping."
