SAILING CORK WEEK 2010:CORK WEEK enters its final phase this morning after heavy weather conditions proved decisive in several classes yesterday. Strong winds and lashing rain obliged the race management team to limit racing to a mixture of the Harbour Race and Olympic courses inside Roche's Point on safety grounds.

Just four classes are undecided but even with the upset to the racing schedule yesterday, a full programme for the week is expected to be completed, leaving possible changes to the leader standings across the 13 classes.

The week-long battle for Class Zero edged closer towards a tie yesterday when Dave Dwyer’s marinerscove.ie scored a second place in the Harbour Course that was won by Anthony O’Leary’s Antix with a much-anticipated return to form that brings the Crosshaven skipper within one point of third place that is held by Kieran Twomey’s Gloves Off.

But class leader Nemo of Cowes, skippered by Richard Cotter, remains the firm leader despite discarding yesterday’s eighth place.
