Racing News:Bookmakers Cashmans have installed Jim Bolger's New Approach as the clear favourite for Sunday's Bank of Scotland (Ireland) National Stakes at the Curragh following the confirmation stage.
The unbeaten Futurity Stakes winner is a 7 to 4 chance for the Group One contest, with Tommy Stack's Prix Morny hero Myboycharlie next in the list at 2 to 1. Fozzy Stack, son and assistant to Tommy, said: "We have entered Myboycharlie for the National Stakes and the intention is to run at this stage. He had a work-out this morning and everything went very well."
Godolphin's Vintage Stakes winner Rio De La Plata has been supplemented for the race at a cost of €30,000, and Cashmans make him a 5 to 2 chance.
Rio De La Plata also holds an entry in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday, and a statement on the Godolphin website reiterated a decision on which race he will run in will be made later in the week.
New Approach - labelled a "European version of Secretariat" by his Carlow trainer - also holds an engagement in the Goffs Million on Friday evening.
With Aidan O'Brien responsible for 10 of the 18 remaining entries, including Henrythenavigator and Great Barrier Reef, the Ballydoyle maestro is 8 to 1 to saddle the winner.
Other possibles include Mick Channon's Hatta Fort and the Dermot Weld-trained Famous Name, who has also been supplemented, while Jim Bolger has also left in the once-raced maiden Via Galilei.
Ken Condon's Norman Invader was also entered but the Kildare handler has warned he is unlikely to take his chance.
He said: "He probably won't run on Sunday unless one or two drop out. "I thought it was worth paying the €600 to enter him just in case."
