Women's Football/All-Ireland Quarter-finals: After Saturday's four quarter-final exchanges in the All-Ireland women's football championship, the competition will have a familiar look to it as the same semi-final pairings as last year will now have to be contested.
Last year's beaten finalists, Dublin, were taken to extra-time by Donegal in the second game at Pearse Park before a late Angie McNally goal ensured the Blues victory by a 2-14 to 2-12 scoreline.
In the earlier game at the Longford venue, Galway were made to work hard by Laois before taking a 1-8 to 1-6 win.
Lisa Cohill scored an early goal for the western county but Kay O'Reilly then scored one for Laois within 10 minutes. Galway had to weather strong second-half pressure from the midland side before a Cohill point sealed a two-point win.
At O'Connor Park, Tullamore, rampant Mayo finally looked back to their best with a comprehensive 1-11 to 1-7 victory over first-time Munster champions Cork.
Not for the first time Cora Staunton led the way for Mayo. She was taken down for penalty in the 20th minute, which was converted by Yvonne Byrne.
They led 1-6 to 0-3 at the break and even though Aishling O'Connor netted for Cork in the second half the result was never really in doubt.
In the second quarter-final at the Co Offaly ground, Kerry edged out Ulster champions Monaghan in a high-scoring encounter by 5-10 to 3-11.
The game hung in the balance until Kerry's Noreen Fealey scored two quick goals midway through the second-half.
The All-Ireland semi-finals take place in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise, on Saturday, September 11th, with reigning champions Mayo playing Galway and Dublin taking on Kerry.
