Leinster Under-21 HC Wexford 0-16 Laois 1-12A Stephen Nolan point, his seventh of the game, one minute into injury-time sent Wexford through to a Leinster under-21 hurling championship semi-final meeting with old rivals Kilkenny after a thrilling quarter-final against Laois at Portlaoise last night.

Laois looked the superior side in the opening half. Three points from full forward Zane Keenan and a goal after 25 minutes from John Brophy helped them to a 1-6 to 0-7 lead at the break.

On the resumption Laois stretched their advantage with points from Damian Bergin and John Rowney. But Wexford substitute Ciarán Lyng reduced the deficit with two points and one each from Stephen and PJ Nolan had the sides level at the end of the third quarter.

Laois regained the lead with a point from substitute Willie Hyland. Wexford responded with two in a row from Stephen Nolan and Michael Doyle to lead with seven minutes left. Laois levelled again with a point from John Walsh before Nolan scored the winning point in the 61st minute.
