GOLF: Keith Nolan's latest effort to return to the main US Tour suffered another set-back when he added a second round 74 to his opening 75 to slip back to tied 62nd in the second stage of qualifying on Wednesday.

The Bray golfer, competing over the Deerwood course in Texas, has just two more rounds to climb into the top 20, and ties, to go through to the six-round final qualifying stage.

Among those competing over the same course is Germany's Alex Cejka, who lies in tied ninth place after rounds of 72 and 68.

Ryder Cup star Phillip Price fell back from 26th to 60th with a second round 75 in the qualifying school outside Orlando, Florida.

At the qualifying tournament at Oak Valley, in California, Italian Emanuele Canonica, who led after an opening 71, had slipped slightly to 10th after adding a second round 73.
