There is some black type action tonight with the Victor McCalmont Stakes, and when it comes to Gowran Park there is no other man to follow but Aidan O'Brien.
The Ballydoyle trainer has a two from two record so far this season at the Kilkenny track and a five from 10 from the year 2000. Throw in his general form for the last few weeks and Fantasy Royale looks the filly to follow in the feature.
She does have something to find on Cork form behind Adonesque but O'Brien has pointed out how his horses have improved from their second starts this term, and Fantasy Royale is regarded highly enough to be taken out of the French Oaks only yesterday. Another trainer in good recent form is Michael Grassick and his Leopardstown winner, Reina Blanca, could be the main danger.
O'Brien and Mick Kinane should also be on the mark in the opener with the Gone West colt, Creekview, and the divisions of the three-year-old maiden can go to Sherry Spinner and Tenor Sax.
Goldstreet's 118 rating in the last is a stand out, while Ruby Walsh can successfully return from a slight eye injury on Strike Alliance in the handicap hurdle.
Stewards in Hong Kong yesterday ruled that the fall in which David Harrison suffered serious injuries in a Sha Tin sprint last week was accidental.
Harrison, who was taken into intensive care, underwent a neck operation on Tuesday. His condition is said to have improved since the accident.
