Excellent midfielder Paul Cribbin made it 0-5 to 0-0 as the Kerry side’s wides tally reached nine. O’Connor finally opened Coláiste’s account but full forward Sean Hurley’s point left St Mary’s in control at the break.

The Kerry lads were a different side after the break, with O’Connor, Damien Kelly and Ian Galvin leading the comeback. Three unanswered points followed before Cribbin opened his side’s second half account. The Cahirciveen side added three points to level the game with 10 minutes left.

St Mary’s replied with fine points from Stuart Cullen and Shane Forde before Stephen O’Dwyer’s point left just a point between the teams.
