AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION Bohemians 2 St Patrick's Athletic 3:SEÁN O'CONNOR capped a man-of the-match display with a stunning winner as St Patrick's had to work hard for this big win in a terrific Dublin derby at Dalymount Park last night. Having provided assists for St Patrick's first two goals, winger O'Connor won it on 70 minutes with a brilliant volley from 25 yards.
Bohemians gave a league debut to 19-year-old goalkeeper Greg Murray and Aaron Callaghan’s side started much the better and deservedly took the lead on 25 minutes. Kevin Devaney’s low cross was swept home by McMillan against his his former club.
Against the run of play, however, James Chambers made no such mistake to equalise three minutes later. The midfielder met O’Connor’s deep free kick and volleyed home from a narrow angle. St Patrick’s went ahead when three minutes into the second half when Chris Forrester got on the end of O’Connor’s cross to toe-poke to the corner of the net. Bohemians responded well to level within a further three minutes. Central defender Kevin Feely met Danny Joyce’s corner to power a header to the net before O’Connor’s crucial moment of magic.
