European Cup/Ulster v Ospreys: Ulster's interim coach, Steve Williams, said he was going to make alterations to a team that had been seriously underperforming all season. That he has done, and few players have been spared.
Williams has made six changes to the side beaten 48-17 last week at the Liberty Stadium as Ulster continue to struggle against implosion. They have one point from three games, while Ospreys have nine. The crucial pool game for the Welsh side will likely come when they meet Gloucester next month.
The most drastic remedies have been applied by Williams at halfback, where Niall O'Connor partners Kieran Campbell as the Ireland internationals Paddy Wallace and Isaac Boss move to the bench.
Scotland's Rob Dewey returns to the centre, with Mark McCrea acting as extra cover on the bench.
In the front row the former Ireland international Justin Fitzpatrick is another high-profile omission and misses out on his 50th cap, Bryan Young moving to loosehead prop and Declan Fitzpatrick coming in at tighthead.
In the back row, the veteran international Kieron Dawson, who has been on the bench for the last two games, will start.
The former London Irish man, who has scored a try on each of his last two outings, will join Neil Best and Matt McCullough.
The former Australian international Justin Harrison forms the secondrow partnership with Ryan Caldwell.
"Kieran Campbell hasn't had much game time and when he does come on the field he looks so sharp and this is his chance," said Williams of his selections. "Niall has looked good when he has played and I just feel that this is the time to give him an opportunity at this level to see what he can do.
"Justin (Fitzpatrick) has played every game so far this season and trains so hard every day I just felt he deserved a weekend off to recharge his batteries."
Ulster are unlikely to concede seven tries, as they did last week, but to even contain the Ospreys at Ravenhill Road would be a triumph in itself.
Gavin Henson is sidelined for some weeks with a broken hand but Ospreys field an unchanged side. Coach Lyn Jones is clearly keeping the faith.
"It is not often we field the same side on two consecutive weeks. Indeed, this will only be the second time in our short history that we have been in a position to do it," he said.
Another five-point win for the visitors would keep the pressure on Gloucester at the top of the pool.
Defeat for Ulster and their main energies will be devoted to the Magners Celtic League and their bid to qualify for this competition next season.
