Gillian O'Donnell heads the international field at the Ballindenisk three-day event in Co Cork after a supremely confident test yesterday afternoon with the part-Connemara nine-year-old Knockieran Crest.

The mare is by Sea Crest, sire of top show jumping stallion Cruising.

The Co Tipperary rider has plenty of talent breathing down her neck, with Necarne Castle winner Jane Tiffin just two points adrift with a new ride, the former Arthur Moore-trained ex-racehorse Scent On, who has three in hand over British entry, Neil Fox and Young Thomas.

The ponies perform their dressage today and are first out across the country tomorrow morning, but the juniors all featured in the dressage arena with Coolmore youngster J.P. Magnier two points clear of his rivals with Wanden Park.
