Substitute Larry O'Gorman gave his side their second victory as they held off a strong Laois challenge in this keenly contested Waterford Crystal senior hurling league game at Abbeyleix yesterday.
Laois looked to be in a promising position at the break when they went in level 0-8 each having played into the strong wind. The first half developed into somewhat of a shoot-out involving Michael Jacob and David Cuddy, both finishing the half on five points each.
With Wexford holding a 0-11 to 0-10 lead with three minutes remaining Niall Rigney forced a splendid save out of Paul Carley and David Cuddy levelled the game from the 65. Then up popped O'Gorman to grab the winning point one minute from the end.
