Golf:Sean O'Hair claimed victory in the RBC Canadian Open after beating Kris Blanks at the first play-off hole.

The pair had both finished on four under but made a meal of the replayed 18th hole, with a bogey proving enough for O'Hair to emerge victorious.

Argentina's Andres Romero finished one shot back after a closing bogey denied him a spot in the play-off, with 2006 US Open winner Geoff Ogilvy and home challenger Adam Hadwin on two under.

O'Hair produced a tidy round, with birdies at the seventh and eighth bringing him into contention and his two bogeys on the back nine both swiftly cancelled out by birdies.

First-round leader Blanks bogeyed the second but recovered for a two-under-par front nine of 33. That left him five under but he dropped shots at 11 and 13 before a birdie at the long 15th put him back into a share of the lead - which he maintained by recovering from a greenside bunker to make par at the last.

Romero was unable to join them in a play-off as he too found the bunker in front of 18 but could not emulate Blanks' up-and-down.

Overnight leader Bo Van Pelt fell away on the final day, shooting a four-over-par 74 to drop out of contention.

Van Pelt's putting kept him on an even keel through his front nine, with seven one-putts compensating for the fact he hit just two out of nine greens in regulation, but he was unable to keep it together after the turn.
