SAILING:Peter O'Leary's and David Burrow's dream of a world championship medal in the Olympic Star Class rests on the result of this morning's final race on Mediterranean waters.

An 18th place scored in the penultimate race yesterday at the French port of Hyeres has been discarded to keep the Cork-Dublin pairing third overall on 26 points with Poland’s former Olympic bronze medallist Mateusz Kuniereweicz and Domibnik Zyxcki just three points adrift.

In second place overall is Robert Sheidt and Bruno Prada of Brazil with a score of 20 points with Britain’s Olympic gold medallists Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson leading the 72-boat fleet by a margin of five points.
