Galway football manager John O'Mahony will make a decision today about his future with the county. Now heading into what would be his eighth year with Galway, O'Mahony still has a season to run on his most recent three-year appointment, writes Seán Moran
His tenure has seen Galway rise again to the top of football with two All-Ireland victories, in 1998 and 2001, but recent seasons haven't been as successful and within a week at the end of last month, the county was eliminated from the senior All-Ireland and Connacht under-21 championships, bringing this year's competitive activity to an end.
O'Mahony will inform the football board and players of his decision before making a public announcement.
Roscommon manager Tom Carr has not made any decision to step down after his side's defeat by Dublin in the fourth round of the qualifiers - despite rumours to the contrary.
