Kerins O'Rahillys ... 0-10 Dr Crokes ... 0-5: Kerins O'Rahillys upset the odds when they brushed aside favourites Dr Crokes in the opening Kerry senior football championship semi-final at a wind-swept Austin Stacks Park yesterday.
The O'Rahillys defence, inspired by Barry and Morgan O'Shea and superb centre back Gareth Walsh, kept county star Colm Cooper and his fellow Crokes forwards well shackled as the Tralee side built up a big first half lead with aid of the strong wind.
Kerry senior panellist Declan Quill punished Crokes with some superb points from play and frees, firing over six of his side's first-half total as O'Rahillys led 0-8 to 0-2 at the break.
SCORERS: Kerins O'Rahillys: D Quill 0-6 (4fs), J O'Connor, M Quirke, P O'Connor, M O'Shea 0-1 each; Dr Crokes: A O'Shea 0-2 frees, D Moloney, B McMahon and E Brosnan 0-1 each.
