Dublin Colleges SF A Final/ Colaiste Eoin 0-10 Malahide CS 1-6: Barra Ó Ruairc gave a classy display at right corner forward as Coláiste Eoin captured the Dublin Colleges senior football A title at Parnell Park yesterday.
Ó Ruairc and brother Shane, who had both missed Coláiste Eoin's campaign through injury, accounted for all but two of their team's tally.
Malahide got off to the better start with a penalty from Stephen Walsh giving them a lead of 1-2 to 0-0 with six minutes gone. But five unanswered points from the brothers, including Shane's injury-time free, left the sides level at the break.
Malahide resumed with two early scores from Walsh before scores from Seán Ó Seanain, Ronan McSuibhne and Barra Ó Ruairc put Coláiste Eoin in front for the first time. A late point from Andrew Hartnett forced extra time with Barra Ó Ruairc's point off a sideline ball winning it for Coláiste Eoin in stoppage time.
